A PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate is a mandatory document issued after testing the emission levels of your vehicle. It confirms that your vehicle’s emissions are within the limits prescribed by the government.
As per Indian Motor Vehicle Act, it is mandatory to have a valid PUC certificate to drive on roads. It helps control air pollution and ensures your vehicle is environmentally safe.
New Vehicle: After 1 year of purchase.
Old Vehicle: Every 6 months (subject to passing the test).
The entire process takes just 5 to 10 minutes.
You only need to bring your vehicle. No documents are needed during the test. However, it is good to have your RC card or number for record purposes.
Yes! You will receive a printed copy of your PUC certificate, which is also updated on the Parivahan website.
You will be advised to get your vehicle serviced and repaired. You can retest after fixing the issue.
